Donald McKay lives just below the gates of the Silent Valley in the Mourne Mountains, in Co. Down.

He’s a regular visitor to Connemara when time permits to paint the marvellous scenery and experience the place and it’s people.

He’s predominantly a plein air painter but given the weather here, he often has to finish off the subject in the studio.
